The People's Republic of China observes its anniversary on October 1. The National Day holiday is one of the seven official public holidays. This year’s holiday will start on Saturday, October 1, and last until Friday, October 7. The ensuing weekend days, October 8 and 9, will be swapped with the weekdays next to the actual holiday to create a longer, uninterrupted vacation period.
